MAHA SIVARATRI CELEBRATIONS 2007
On the great auspicious night of Maha Shivaratri, Friday, Feb 16th 2007 Datta Yoga Center - DFW Chapter organized Maha Shivaratri Celebrations at the residence of Aparna & Chidananda Sulur in Richardson. With the blessings of Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji it was a great opportunity for all devotees as everybody celebrated Maha Shivaratri all night performing Laghunyaasa Purvaka Rudrabhishekam to Maha Sivalingam and participating in Nama Sankirtana and Nama Japam.
The evening started with Laghunyaasa puja, followed by Shodashopachaara puja with Rudrabhishekam. All the devotees personally performed Abhiskem with water that was mixed with Ganges and Manasarovar teerthams. The detailed puja with chantings of Rudram and Purusha Sooktam mantras was lead by Sri K.S.Varadachary and ably assisted by his daughter Smt.Pavani Thakker. Bhajans were sung until 11:30PM in a very invigorating bhajan session where everybody sang all Lord Shiva bhajans. The celebrations came to an end with the conclusion of the puja and Maha Mangala Arati at 12am.
