Devi Navaratri Celebrations 2007

With the blessing & guidance from Parama Pujya Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji of Avadhootha Dattapeetham India, Datta Yoga Center - DFW Chapter celebrated Devi Navaratri Celebrations with family and friends from 12th October to 21st October at various residences in the Dallas Metroplex area. This was the sixth year of Devi Navaratri Celebrations and on an average every day more than 50 people on weekdays and more than 100 people on weekends actively participated and enjoyed the programs.

Navaratri is known as the Festival of Nine Nights honoring the Mother goddess. Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji personally conducted all the pujas and celebrated Navaratri festival at Avadhootha Datta Peetham in Mysore.

The celebrations in Dallas started at 7:30PM during weekdays and at 7:00PM in the weekends. Every day Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam Stothram was chanted followed by Devi Kavacham. Devi Bhajans were sung daily and everybody listened to Sri Swamiji's Devi bhajans composition for that day as sung at Mysore Ashram in India. Each day the program was lead very well by either Smt.Pavani Thakker or Smt.Radhika Kodela. Bookstall was displayed everyday and the special Navaratri sale of 10 CD's for $35 was used by many people. All the hosts did a great job in making all the arrangements and prepared delicious Maha Prasadam on all the days. Programs concluded daily with Kakada Arati and Mangalam followed by Maha Prasadam.

At Bala Datta, Kids & Parents performed Sri Saraswati Devi pooja on Sunday, Oct. 14th during the Devi Navaratri Celebrations.
