KALA MAALIKA

With the blessings of Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji, "Kala Maalika - A Guru Sishya Parampara" event on Sept 30th, Sunday at Granville Arts Center was a grand success with everyone appreciating the quality and the professionalism of the whole program. Kala Maalika was an unique charity program showcasing local dance and music schools, complete with teacher and student performances in Kuchipudi, Bharatantyam, Kathak, Odissi, Carnatic Music and more!! All funds raised through the show will be donated to orphanages and educational projects in India through Datta Peetham. The Chief Guest for the event was Sri.V.V.Prakasa Rao, Chairman of Datta Yoga Center, USA and the Guest of Honor was Sri.Jaya Krishna Bappuji.

Smt.Padma & Sri.Krishnaiah Sonti initiated this wonderful idea and it was a great team effort on part of Kuchipudi Kalakshetra , Mudra Foundation and all DYC Dallas members in working together as a family and making it a successful event. A fund raising event of such scale is a first for Datta Yoga Center(DYC) Dallas and with Sri Swamiji's blessing the event was successfully organized and funds equal to almost $18,000.00 were raised from the event.
