BALA DATTA ANNUAL FUNCTION 2007

With the blessings and guidance from Parama Pujya Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, Bala Datta Annual function was celebrated on May 5th Saturday, 4:30 PM at Ruth Borchardt Elementary school in Plano. Chief Guest Sri Gopal Ponangi lighted the lamp and inaugurated the Bala Datta 4th Annual function. Around 250 adults and 100+ children attend the annual function making this the largest DYCDFW function.

Pre School Class
Pre school children dressed up as different deities including Ganapati, Rama, Krishna, Siva, Brahma, Datta, Parvati, Saraswati, Sri Swamiji. Children were so cute and it was looking like a "Meeting of Gods". Smt. Shravanthi Dahagam & Smt. Madhavi Bhavanasi worked extensively in preparing and training the children. Smt. Gayatri Kunda Vishnubotla and Smt. Jahnavi Jayanthi also spent several hours in preparing the children.

Ramayana
Students from Ramayana class showed and narrated Ramayana in about 15 minutes. Each student dressed up as a character from Ramayana and said one or two dialogues related to that character. Their teacher Smt. Prabha Ghantasala narrated the Ramayana in between students' dialogues to keep the epic story continue smoothly. It is amazing to see how Ramayana can be narrated in 15 minutes. Sri Subra & Prabha Ghantasala and Smt.Bhargavi Chebrolu worked hard in preparing the students enact Ramayana. Ramayana students also sang a bhajan - "Vande Santam Hanumantam".

Bala Bhagavatam
Students from Bala Bhagavatam class showed and narrated Bala Bhagavatam in about 20 minutes. Each student dressed up as a character from Bhagavatam and said one or two dialogues related to that character. Their teacher Sri. Hari Madiraju narrated Bala Bhagavatam in between students' dialogues to keep the epic story continue smoothly. Small technical difficulties we had with audio recording did not hamper the enthusiasm and Bhagavatam spirit of this class. Sri Srikanth Gurrapu worked diligently with students in preparing them from the annual function.

Maha Bharatam
Students from Maha Bharatam class enacted two plays. One is Story Bhasmasura and second is Story of Markandeya. Both plays were excellent and everyone enjoyed them. Students also sang bhajan - "Jaya Jaya Gnana Bodha Sabha". Smt. Geeta Rampalli worked hard and put students through many training and rehearsal sessions in preparing them for the annual function.

Class 5
Class 5 students learned about Great Saints of India. We also started introducing them to leadership skills like public speaking and presentation about a topic. Each student prepared PowerPoint presentations about one of the Great Saints from India. During annual function each student from Class 5 presented about their favorite Great Saint. Teachers Venkat Mulukutla & Sirish Poondla spent many hours in preparing students for the annual function.

Sri Venkat Mulukutla did excellent job as Master of Ceremony and kept whole function flowing smoothly from start to end. Chi.Srividya Ghantasala & Chi. Yasvanth Poondla helped Sri Venkat Mulukutla throughout the function by introducing all the programs. At the end, Chief Guest Sri Gopal Ponangi distributed gifts to Teachers and Sri Sirish Poondla thanked Teachers, Volunteers and Donors.
